Recreation
The Eagle River Area features many activities
and adventures including:
- Hiking in the nearby Nicolet
National Forest,
- Canoeing or tubing on the Wisconsin River,
- Golfing at the Eagle
River Municipal course, Lake Forest or many
other close golf courses,
- Horseback riding at several close locations,
- Shels Wood Art Museum and the Children's Museum,
- Go kart rides, paint ball competition,
- Local winery,
- ADVENTURE RIDES in a Classic Stearman open
cockpit bi-plane,
- Glider rides or scenic rides for groups in
general aviation aircraft,
- Bowling at our Eagle
River Lanes,
- Tennis courts in town and
- Pontoon boat tours on the Chain of Lakes.
Eagle River also features a landmark building
housing the Ice Hockey Arena, compete in local
Musky tournaments, learn at the free fishing seminars,
attend Antique Shows, water ski shows and boat
to several local pubs and restaurants for casual
dining. (Some feature live music on weekends.)
Nearby attractions include the scenic Bond Falls
and Agate Falls, visit the site of the Mystery
Light at Robbins Pond, canoe the Ontonogon
River with Wilderness Tours, hike the Porcupine
Mountains and see Lake Superior and Lake in the
Clouds. Enjoy a ride on the live full scale steam
train at Camp 9 in Laonia or Kayak the rapids
on the Wolf River. Activity books are located
in each guest cottage.
| Otter
Lake is a 217 acre lake and is one
of 28 lakes that make up the largest inland
chain of lakes in the world. The lake has
a maximum depth of 30 feet and is rated "Class
A" for musky and walleye. It also supports
panfish and bass populations. Otter Lake and
the Chain are excellent recreational waters
for swimming, boating and water skiing. |
