Hands down one of our favorite things to do in the Northwoods area. It’s about a 30 minute drive from the resort. It’s a great thing to do after a hike to Bond Falls as the Trout Hatchery is on the way home.
The Hatchery was built back when the Civilian Conservation Corp was around for jobs. It has a natural spring on the property so the fish get nice cool fresh water. The owner gives you a great tour of the facility and then afterwards you can go and catch your own trout and bring them back to the Cottages to cook up for dinner. The rainbow trout are the most delicious!
The picture above is Lizzie and Zack – who are your hosts at the resort!
It’s closed on Wednesdays.
