There are lots of great things to do in Eagle River, but here we are going to highlight 5 of our favorite.
1 Scenic Air Tours
We may be impartial to this one since John, the resort owner, runs this business. But putting that aside, this 30-minute tour will amaze you – you truly never realize how many lakes there are until you get up in the air. You can fly over where you are staying and get an Eagle’s eye view of Eagle River.
2. Eagle River Twisted History Tours
Lizzie is your tour guide on this 60 minute walking tour of downtown Eagle River. You will learn about the beginnings of Eagle River, learn about some of the darker things that happened in Eagle River’s history like an Indian Massacre and Chicago Gangster activity. Although not a ghost tour, it is still a fun way to learn about Eagle River and hear some corny jokes!
3. Pirates Hideaway
Set Sail on the Chain of Lakes with Pirates Hideaway. They expand their business every year and are hoping to add a full restaurant in the near future. In the meantime, there is an awesome tiki bar where Lizzie bartends and the pirate ship is a great way to relax on the chain.
4. Northwoods Escape Room
If there is something the Lumleys love, it is a challenge. The escape room provides just that. There are 3 different themes to choose from. We have done all of them and they are so much fun. The Lumleys have done escape rooms all over the US and these rooms are top notch. Definitely stop in for a visit.
5. Horseback Riding
There are several stables around Eagle River – Rocking W, Pine Point, and there is one on the way to St. Germain in Elmers. Horse backing riding through the woods is very peaceful. Some of the rides take you along the Wisconsin River.
